13 Weeks!

Monday marked 13 weeks in our baby journey! Baby A is the size of a peach this week. My weekly updates tell me that baby is growing teeth and vocal cords...all the better to scream with! Baby A is also growing some intestines inside his/her body now, which is a good thing because if the baby turns out to have Steph's eating habits they are going to need a big digestive system :) Second trimester is supposed to be the easiest of the three, so I'm glad I have finally arrived. They say that you're supposed to get some energy back...but I went to sleep at 7pm last night and didn't wake up until 9 this morning! Yikes...

On another note, Derc accepted a new job within Wells Fargo this week! He is very excited to take on a new challenge and thinks it will be a good fit for him. He will be a Loan Adjuster now and his office will be right across the road from Steph's work! Lunch dates perhaps?!

For those of you who don't have it on your calendars, Derc's birthday is this Sunday the 28th! He'll be 27...one year closer to 30 :) He told me he doesn't want a present from me because he wants to 'save' all of his presents this year for new golf clubs this summer. I kindly reminded him that he got new golf clubs two years ago...aren't those things supposed to last a while?! We'll see how that one goes... :)

I need fishsticks!!

So, I haven't really had any strong cravings yet, but I had some weird cravings this week.....I haven't had fishsticks since probably elementary school and this week it was all I seemed to want to have for dinner! Also, poor Derc went out in a snow storm last night to get me a bag full of laffy taffys because I couldn't stop talking about them :)

Tonight Derc and I are going out to eat and to a movie! Haven't been to a movie forever, can't wait!

Week 12 = Plum!

That's right folks...there is a plum in there!

Talked to my sister last night and Jordan has croup :( Poor guy sounds terrible, feel better J-Man!!! Oh, and tell Mom and Dad that you want to come visit Uncle D and Aunt Steph really soon!

Baby A's Heartbeat

Talk about an awesome experience!! Today we got to hear Baby A's heartbeat. It was strong and quick! Heartbeat was 169 which is pretty fast. Derc took the video on our camera so it is kind of hard to hear, but if you listen closely you'll hear the "woosh, woosh, woosh" sound...

12 weeks and counting!

In my 12th week now! We had a Dr. appointment today and heard the heartbeat!!!! See the next post for the video! Stomach is starting to grow a bit, getting harder and harder to suck it in :( Derc likes to point and laugh...but I know he's doing it out of love, haha!

Oh heeeeeyy Tim!

Two concerts in a month is definitely a record for me and Derc. We got to see Tim McGraw last weekend and Lady Antebellum opened for them. This concert was AMAZING!! The only downfall....Tim had a beard which I wasn't feeling. Oh, and my funnel cake wasn't good :(

Nine weeks!

Well, what better time to take a pregnancy photo than on a mountain while watching the sunset in Phoenix! My mom, sister and I went to a mountain to collect some small rocks that we can bring home and put by my dad's memorial since he loved the mountains.

Not sure what caused the bump here....it may be the baby but I had consumed record amounts of food this week...

Sad day...

As you have heard by now, Steph's dad passed away on 1/22/10. This has obviously been an incredibly difficult time for the family, but knowing that we have all of your support has meant the world to us! Tim will be greatly missed and we're so sad that he won't be able to meet his grandchild, we know he would have loved him/her! It helps knowing that Baby A will have it's own guardian angel...

New Years!

Happy New Year! I tell ya what, I was so pumped to drink this sparkling grape juice on New Years...I was ready to get crazy :) Luckily my position allows me to be a great DD on holidays.

Best Christmas gift ever

Well.....buh-bye stomach! This is when I was 6 weeks along. Derc and I found out we were expecting our first child on 12/23/09, what a great Christmas present! We found out during a pit stop on our drive to Cedar Rapids to visit my family for Christmas. Took a pregnancy test at a gas station in Newton and saw a faint line. We wanted to be sure so we took another one when we got to Cedar Rapids...sure enough, it said, "Pregnant"! It was hard not telling our families right away since we thought it would be a great Christmas gift :)
